Our community relations efforts are guided by four pillars: local development, quality of life, education, and culture. We believe investing in these areas is the best way for us to contribute to building self-sustaining communities that will continue to prosper after our operations end.

Open Doors Program

The Open Doors Program aims to establish, in a clear and transparent manner, better communications between Yamana and local communities. Employees and their families, students, mining association members and community representatives visit our mines to learn more about our vision, values, safety procedures and environmental policies.

Integration Program

The Integration Program’s goal is to improve the quality of life of local and surrounding communities by providing support in four key areas: health, the environment, family and community involvement. The program includes Integration Day at each operation where volunteers, in partnership with local governments and members of the private sector, offer services free of charge including medical exams, environmental education and support completing legal documents. Our Integration Days have grown significantly in popularlity since their inception eight years ago.

Partnership Seminars Program

The Partnership Seminars Program supports projects that contribute to the sustainable development of local communities. We accept proposals to support local education, environmental, cultural, economic and health initiatives, and provide up to 85% of funding for projects. We continue to encourage projects focused on job creation because of their positive contribution towards long-term economic development of our communities.
